Robert J. Comegys Jr., 82, of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Born in Kennedyville, MD, on June 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert E. and the late Peninnah (Boyles) Comegys.
Robert worked at Stewart Grows Farm from 1961 to 1965, Bill Anthony Family Electric Plumbing from 1961 to 1968, Boeing Aircraft for one year, Dudley Simplar Plumbing and Electric, Don Neuman with Shore Well Drillers, and then retired from Chrysler in 2002. He was a member of the North East Methodist Church and the UAW Local 1183. Robert loved spending time with his family, going to watch softball games, and soccer games. He also loved to watch tractor pulls, restore antique tractors, and the farm.
Survived by four children: Debbie Leflar (Tim), Christine Reiners (Keith), Ron Dawson, Jr. (Bernadette), and Robert (Buck) Comegys III (Hadir); one son-in-law: Robert Harvey; three siblings: Penniah A. Comegys Blalock, Cyndy K. Comegys Holland, and George Thomas Comegys; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta J. Comegys, his daughter, Donna Harvey, and his sister, Theresa A. Comegys Kaplan.
Friends may call on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at North East Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD, with funeral services starting thereafter.
Interment will be held at North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
