Richard Allen Goad, 65 of Elkton, MD, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the care of his daughters and son. Born in Pulaski, VA, on April 26, 1946, he was the son of the late John and the late Lucy Brady Cronk Goad. He had worked for W.L. Gore in production. An avid hunter, trapper and fisherman, he greatly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and spending time with his family. Survivors include his children: Tammy Sonnier and her husband Curtis of Earleville, MD, Christy Given and her husband Robbie of Elkton, MD, Richard Goad II and his wife Jamie of LA and April Goad of Elkton, MD; 8 grandchildren: Zachary Sonnier and his wife Tara of Elkton, MD, Curtis Sonnier, Jr. of NC, Kaitlyn Given, Gabriel Goad, Jacob Given all of Elkton, MD, Amerika Goad, Trapper Goad both of GA and Isaac Breaux of LA; 2 great grandchildren: Landen Sonnier of NC and Allie Sonnier of Elkton, MD; also a sister: Ruth Overton of Elkton, MD and brother: Billy Goad of VA; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Paul Thomas will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow services in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
