Richard W. Evans

Richard W. Evans, 76 of Charlestown, MD, died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on March 28, 1934, he was the son of the late August Evans and the late Grace Hazel Walstrum Cantler. He served our country during the Korean War in the Air Force. He retired in 1997 after 17 years of service at Aberdeen Proving Ground where he worked as a Carpenter. A member of the First Baptist Church of Perryville, he enjoyed woodworking, golfing and spending time with his children. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years: Maria E. Evans; two sons: Frank W. Evans and his wife Araceli and Timothy W. Evans and his wife Dawn both of North East, MD; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. John Gauger, will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will follow services in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown, MD.
