Rhea Joyce Adams

Rhea Joyce Adams, 78 of North East, MD, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Principio, MD, on September 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Richard and the late Kathleen Hollister Borden. She was the wife of the late Colonel E. Adams who died on December 1, 2006. Mrs. Adams was a cashier, working over the years at the North East News Stand, Madison House, Flying J and the Stop and Go. She enjoyed attending North East Methodist Church, playing bingo, cards and trips to Atlantic City. Survivors include her children: Kathy Dean and Greg Baker of Elkton, MD; Connie McGuirk and her husband Ronnie of Perryville, MD; Lori Arrants and her husband Steve of North East, MD; and Gary Dean and his wife Shirley of North East, MD; her stepchildren: Wilma Ann Reedy and her husband Denny of Troutdale, VA; Shirley Hall and her husband Buddy of Perryville, MD; Lisa Long of Elkton, MD; Pam Smith of Zephyr, FL; and Mike Adams and his wife Jackie of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Lorraine Diamonte of North East, MD; Dion Reichart of Western Port, MD; Marian Snyder-Herron of Oxford, PA; two brothers: Gary Borden and Norris Abrams, both of Rising Sun, MD; a half sister: Marcia Murray of Rising Sun, MD; and also 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Adams was also predeceased by two sons: Gene and Ricky Dean; and a brother: Charlie Borden. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Sunday evening from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
