Rev. Ralph Sherwood Young

Rev. Ralph Sherwood Young, 80, of Rising Sun, MD, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 10, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, on July 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and the late Dorothy V. Storey Young. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was a Contractual Inspector. Rev. Young graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminar. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North East, where he was formerly the Minister of Music. He was a pilot, a carpenter, and loved his cat Snuggles. Survivors include the loving mother of his children, Betty Young; five daughters: Gayle Brandt and her husband Jeff of Cedar Park, TX, Robin Oltmann and her husband Paul of Hebron, MD, Holly Buckhalt and her husband Mark of Lexington, VA, Terrie Stike and her husband Mark of Elkton, MD, Sandy Jackson and her husband Marvin of Aberdeen, MD; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, David. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 6:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 4:00 PM. Rev.
