Rev. Otis Leon Doherty
Born in Stonewall, MS, on August 22, 1932, he was the son of the late William Herman and the late Ester (Smith) Doherty.
Rev. Doherty retired in 1998 as pastor for Ogletown Baptist Church, Newark, DE after 24 years of service. He then served the church as retired Pastor Emeritus.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, snow and water skiing and piloting small planes.
Survivors include his loving wife: Evelyn Doherty; four sons: David L. Doherty of Elizabeth, CO, Glen L. Doherty of Newark, DE, Bryan L. Doherty of Dallas, TX, Wayne L. Doherty of North East, MD; one sister: Alice White of Quitman, MS; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.
A second visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Road, Newark, DE, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am.
