Rev. Norma O. Bailey

Rev. Norma O. Bailey, 76 of Elkton, MD, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD.

Rev. Bailey was the middle daughter of Robert O. Bailey and Gladys May Bailey (nee Harvey).  She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Marion Bailey Cameron and Roberta Bailey Clements and a niece, Lois Cameron Bannister.

Rev. Bailey is survived by four nieces, Wanda Cameron Ward (Charles), Sue Ann Cameron Barkley (Daniel), Marsha Clements Koncir, Laura Elizabeth Morris (Scott), seven great-nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Rev. Bailey was a 1957 Graduate of North East High School, graduated from Gordon College in Beverly Farms, MA with a BA degree and received her Master’s Degree at Kings College in New York State. Pastor Bailey received her Divinity degree from Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC.

Pastor Bailey served as a student minister at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Charlestown, MD and at Hart’s United Methodist Church in Elk Neck.  She was appointed to the Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury where she served for over 17 years until her retirement. She then moved back to Cecil County, where she had a home in Cecil Woods; she was a resident of Abbey Manor Assisted Living for the past several years.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 East Main Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.

Interment will be private.
