Rev. John Craig Tignor, 57 of Elkton, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born in Lebanon, VA, on November 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Oakley and the late Hazel (Gilbert) Tignor.
He served in the Army and Army National Guard for 11 years.
Rev. Tignor retired from Tignor Brothers Construction in 2006 where he worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and his church family.
Survivors include his loving wife: Linda(Porter) Tignor of Elkton, MD: his daughter: Suzanne Leffew and husband Jeremy of North East, MD; 3 grandchildren: Jeremiah Lee Leffew, Elijah John Leffew and Madyson Gabryel Leffew; 6 siblings: Ted Tignor, Harry Tignor, Janice Hobson, Joyce Carter, Martha Bates and Shirley Urich; and his mother-in-law: Elouise Porter.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Bernice Rhubarth.
Funeral service, conducted by Pastors Jonnie and Barbara Nickles will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Worship Center, 32 Hilltop Road, Elkton, MD, where visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Interment with full military honors will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
