Rev. Jack Dale Corron

Rev. Jack Dale Corron, 71 of Middletown, DE went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 13, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rainelle, WV, on Feb. 2, 1940 he was the son of the late Elmer Lee & the late Edith Corron. He attended Rainelle HS where he was a proud member of the Rainelle Rangers Football Team. Rev. Corron joined the Air Force in 1960 & was stationed in Spain, where he picked up his greatest souvenir, his wife Araceli. Upon honorable discharge in 1964, he began his career with General Motors. He was very active in the Union, holding various positions and traveling the country to negotiate for the UAW; retiring in 1996 as the Benefits Rep for the GM Plant in Wilmington, DE. Rev. Corron was an avid sports fan, especially fond of the Phila. Eagles & Phillies. His greatest love in life was his love for the Lord. He was called early into the ministry holding many positions with churches throughout his life. He was Pastor of Grace Chapel Baptist Church, Chesapeake City, MD until his death. The greatest joy throughout his battle with cancer was the chance to minister to the people he met while undergoing his treatments. He told everyone he wouldn't trade places with anyone because of the added opportunities to witness with the Drs., nurses and other patients he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons: Elmer Lee II & Jack D. Jr.; his brother: Richard; 2 sisters: Helen D'agostino & Margaret Harres; 2 half-sisters: Edith Phillips & Virginia Ritchie & a grandson: Jack Dale III. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years: Araceli-Lali Corron; 2 sons: Jack A. and Roy A. & his wife Betty all of Magnolia, DE; 5 grandchildren: Erin, Katylin, Cynthia, Roy A. II & Tabbitha; 3 great grandchildren; brother: Frank of Rising Sun, MD & sister: Linda Ditsel of Baltimore, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tues., January 17, 2012 from 6PM until 8PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main St., North East, MD. Funeral services will be held on Wed., January 18, 2012 at 11AM at Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church, 1168 W. Old Philadelphia Rd., Charlestown, MD. Interment with military honors will follow at 2PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Seasons Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
