Rev. Charles Edward Taylor, 88 of South Bend, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2009 in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Plymouth, IN, on January 5, 1921, Mr. Taylor was the beloved husband of Lois D. Taylor of South Bend, IN. He was the son of the late Rev. Charles V. Taylor and the late Irene Hall Taylor and the brother of the late Vivian Uhl Widup. The surviving sisters are Betty Coddens residing in Florida, Joanne Greganti residing in California, and Janith Hunsinger residing in California as well as a half-brother, Donald Taylor of Owensboro, KY; In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: three daughters: Rosalind J. Campbell-Sendler of Mays Landing, NJ, Maralind J. Merlo-Krejci of Houston, TX, Elizabeth I. Booye of Elkton, MD; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His ministerial call from God led him to the towns of Elkhart IN; Mishawaka, IN; then to Christ Temple Church in South Bend, IN on Elwood Ave, which was founded by his father in the 1930's, then to Topeka, KS, Oxford, PA, 521 Doughty Rd, Pleasantville, NJ and then to McKee City, NJ where he pastored Ocean Heights Pentecostal Church for approximately 30 years, at which time he retired from the ministry at age 82. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a gunner & cook. For most of his ministry he was a member of United Pentecostal Church International. Visitation and funeral for family and friends will be held Friday, December 18, 2009, from 11:00AM until 1:00 PM, funeral will begin at 1:00PM at Evangelical Fellowship Church, 521 Doughty Rd, Pleasantville, NJ.
