Phyllis Jean Wooddell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Jean Wooddell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the age of 86.

Phyllis was born on February 18, 1940, in Marlinton, WV.

Phyllis worked at the shops in North East, MD, and was a homemaker. Phyllis was a member of State Line Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD. But above all, Phyllis valued the time spent with her family, creating cherished memories with her daughter, son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew M. Wooddell, Jr, in 1988, her parents, William Floyd and Pearl Elizabeth (Bostic) Rucker, her sister Sylvia Patrick, and her brother, Morris Rucker.

Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Pamela J. Jennings of Oxford, PA, and one son, Andrew M. Wooddell, III (Peggy) of North East, MD, and 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service to honor Phyllis Jean Wooddell’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with a public viewing taking place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

She will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery, Marlinton, WV.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Phyllis not just for her passing, but for the countless moments of joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will live on through the love she shared and the memories we hold dear.
