Patricia Ann (Burnette) Simpers

Patricia Ann Simpers, 78 of Gretna, VA, formerly of North East, MD passed away Monday, October 19, 2020.

Born in WV, on October 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Gertrude Burnette.  She was the wife of the late Robert T. Simpers, Sr who passed away on September 8, 2011. They would have been married for 41 years.

Before her retirement, Patricia worked as a hotel housekeeping manager.  She had also worked as a waitress for several years, while raising her children.

Patricia was blessed with a large and loving family.  Family was everything to her and she loved spending time with all of her family.  She was always on the road traveling to see each and every daughter/son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She always wanted to attend every celebration, graduation, birthday, and ball game.

Patricia is survived by four daughters: Tammy Moore (belated husband Mike Moore) of Arden, NC, Kim Harris (husband Charles Harris) of Gretna VA, Katrina Gibbs (husband Sean Gibbs) of Weaverville, NC, Cynthia Vandiford (husband JM Vandiford) of Farmville, NC and two sons: Thomas Allen (Fiancée Rebecca Kelley) of Rising Sun, MD, and Richard Allen (Annie Brown)of Landrrum, SC. Five Step Children: Angel Bedell of Chester, MD, John Simpers of FL, Stephen Simpers, Robert T. Simpers, and Luke Simpers all of North East, MD; her sister: Connie Jenkins of Verdunville, WV; 34 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband’s daughter; Barbara "Crickett" Simpers and 1 sister; Debra Burnette Whitman, and 4 brothers; Eugene Burnette, Bob Burnette, Mickey Burnette, and Ernie Burnette.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Rossiter, will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00am, at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Interment will follow in St. Mary Anne’s Cemetery.  Following the graveside services there will be a luncheon, at 121 Crothers Rd Rising Sun, MD 21911.
