Patricia Ann “Patty” Short

Patricia Ann Short, 62, of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 25, 1964, in Elkton, Maryland. Throughout her life, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most.

Patricia was employed for many years with W.L. Gore, where she built lasting friendships and took pride in her work. While she was dedicated to her career, her greatest joy was always found at home with her family.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Patricia's world revolved around the people she cherished. She shared a special bond with her husband, Robert Short, and together they created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.

Patricia was a woman who found beauty in the simple things. She had a deep love for hummingbirds and spent countless hours feeding and photographing them, marveling at their grace and beauty. She was talented with her hands and found comfort and joy in knitting and crocheting, often creating handmade treasures that would be cherished by her family for years to come.

Above all else, Patricia adored her grandchildren. Her eyes would light up whenever she spoke of them, and she treasured every moment spent making memories, sharing stories, offering hugs, and celebrating life's milestones. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Patricia will be remembered for her warm smile, caring nature, generous heart, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She touched the lives of many and left behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Short; her sons, Matthew Grafton and his wife, Brittany, of Newark, Delaware, and Mason Grafton and his wife, Sarah, of North East, Maryland; her parents, Emerson Barton, Jr. (Julie) and Hazel Eastridge; her sister, Debbie Brock and her husband, Dale, of Perryville, Maryland; her brother, Tommy Barton and his wife, Dawn, of Rising Sun, Maryland; and her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Freya, Kit, and Graham, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A.

Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, Maryland.

Though Patricia's presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
