Olive C. Knowles

Olive C. Knowles, 86, of North East, MD, crossed over to her Heavenly home, Thursday, November 1, 2007 peacefully at home. A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on July 31, 1921, the daughter of the late Elisha and the late Junietta DeHaven Atkinson. She was the wife of the late Arthur Edward Knowles who passed away February 14, 1989. She was a member of Hart's United Methodist Church, Elk Neck, MD, and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of North East VFW Post #6027. She enjoyed family, friends, animals, reading, watching TV, going out to lunch, and driving her golf cart with her three doggies, Buffy, Rascal, and Midge. Survivors include: a granddaughter Kimberly A. Olah and husband Stephen of North East, MD; a grandson Eugene A. Knowles, Jr. of North East, MD; a sister Mary R. Burton of New Milton, WV; a daughter-in-law Sandra Knowles Nancarrow of North East, MD; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Eugene Arthur Knowles, and siblings; Elisha A. Atkinson, Stephen R. Atkinson, Delbert W. Atkinson, Isabella J. Rolfe, and Amanda A. Rambo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Knowles will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in Hart's Cemetery. Rev. Mary Browne will officiate.
