Norma Jean Smith

Norma Jean Smith, 65 of Charlestown, MD, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at home. Born in Fayette County, WV, on July 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Elvie T. and the late Zella Marie Daniels Moore. She was the wife of the late Ardie L. "Buck" Smith who passed away November 17, 2006. She retired from the Housekeeping Department of University of Delaware, Newark, DE. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Delaware Park, Friday and Saturday night friendly poker games and yard sales. Survivors include six children: Ardie L. Smith, Jr. and his wife Jackie of Elkton, MD; Kathy Lynn Wright of Rising Sun, MD; Randy Smith and his wife Debbie of Rising Sun, MD; David Smith and his wife Pam of Elkton, MD,; Elvie Smith of North East, MD; Larry Smith and his wife Lisa of Warwick, MD; also one sister: Drema Nugalene Clark of Elkton, MD and two brothers: James Moore of Rising Sun, MD, Shirky Moore of North East, MD; her loving caretaker, Monica Reitzle; 18 Grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and too many friends to mention. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Effie Collins Burma Trout; and two brothers, Sidney and Charles Moore. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rev. Ron Smith will officiate. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
