Nora A. Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nora A. Jones, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on June 23, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on February 19, 1931, Nora lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her unwavering love for her family and her passions.

Nora was a devoted mother to her three children, Nancy Celaschi and Sherry Ayers of Port Deposit, MD, and Dale Jones of Elkton, MD. She is survived by her treasured grandchildren, five grandsons, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and one great great-granddaughter who all brought her endless joy and laughter. Nora also leaves behind her beloved sister, Thelma Kirsche of FL.

Nora was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Robert A. Jones; her parents, Paul C. Ward and Jessie (Newcomb) Ward.

A lifetime member of the American Trap Shooting Association, Nora was not only passionate about the sport but also enjoyed the thrill of competition, proudly winning numerous trophies. Her adventurous spirit found joy in collecting strawberry-themed treasures and exploring yard sales, where she shared her vibrant personality and infectious smile with all she encountered. Nora's professional journey led her to work in the Food Nutrition Department with Cecil County Schools, where she nurtured the well-being of countless children, leaving a lasting impact on her community.

To honor her remarkable life and the love she shared, a public viewing will be held at Crouch Funeral Home P.A., 127 S Main Street, North East, MD, on June 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful legacy Nora leaves behind.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Nora for her kindness, her unwavering spirit, and her dedication to family. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
