Nicholas Charles Schewe

Nicholas Charles Schewe, 22 of North East, MD, passed away suddenly Friday, January 12, 2024, in Bishopville, MD.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on September 12, 2001, he was the son of Daniel Craig and Dana Nicole (Baxter) Schewe.

Nicholas loved to see people laugh and smile. He hated to see anyone hurting. He loved his fiancée, his family, and his friends. He would drop whatever he was doing to come help someone in a heartbeat. He called his parents and sister every day to check on them and talked to his grandparents every week. He looked up to his big brother and was excited to be a new uncle. He was godfather to two of his friends' children and would soon be godfather to twins. Nick never bragged about being a good person or tried to convince anyone that he was a good person. He just lived it.

Nick did many wonderful things in his short life. He helped start a food ministry in North East. He volunteered as an assistant football coach for Upwards. He was an avid sports fan and not only loved football and hockey but played both sports. He traveled out west to visit the national parks and drove down the California coast, stopping to zipline in the giant redwoods near Big Sur. Nick loved cars and hanging out with his friends at car shows. He enjoyed racing at the Cecil County Drag Strip and spent much of his free time working on his cars. He and his Poppop shared their love of cars and spent many hours discussing them. He loved the water and grew up boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay with his family. Nick attended the Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida, earned his captain's license, and worked at Sunset Marina in Ocean City, Maryland. Nick fell madly in love and got engaged to the girl of his dreams, Breann, and they planned to get married this October.

He is survived by his parents: Daniel and Dana (Baxter) Schewe of North East, MD; siblings: Zach Schewe (Kalyn) of South Hampton, NJ and Emma Schewe of North East, MD; fiancé: Breann E. Russell of North East, MD; Maternal grandparents, Charles & Diane Baxter of Newark, DE; and nephew: Nathan Schewe.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandmother: Janet Schewe.
