Nevada E. Shea, 84 died peacefully at her home in Elkton, MD on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Born in Rising Sun, MD, on June 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and the late Carrie Demond Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J. Harold Shea, March 2010 and her son, Hal Shea in March 2005. She was also preceded in death by her four sisters, Violet Curry, Lorraine Ott, Leona Simpkins and Gladys Collins. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carey M. and Katherine Shea of Newark, DE, and her daughter-in-law, Joanna Shea of Elkton, MD. She was very proud of her four granddaughters, Stacy Silva husband Kris, Lauren Shea, Krystal Wright husband Jason and Jaclyn Shea. She was especially proud of her four great grandchildren, Alaina Solazzo, Quran Vice, Jacob Silva and Madison Wright. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Delbert Collins who will speak at her memorial service. She enjoyed watching her sons' baseball games and her granddaughters many different sports activities over the years. Mrs. Shea loved getting her hair done and enjoyed baking cakes and reading novels. She previously worked for many years as an Avon representative. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD where family and friends may call beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to: Delaware School for the Deaf, in care of Crouch Funeral Home.
