Nealie Lucille Rhodes

Nealie Lucille Rhodes, age 88, of North East, Maryland, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, in Elkton, Maryland. Born in Jonesville, North Carolina, on July 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Turner Martin and Jettie Martin. Mrs. Rhodes was a laborer, working for area fireworks and explosives plants for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, North East, Maryland, and she loved reading and cooking. Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her husband, Crommie Sylvester Rhodes, who died in 1965; and her daughter, Jette Lou Rhodes. Survivors include her children, Rose Lee Poe, Avolene Barton, Turner Rhoades, and Ronald Rhodes, all of North East, Maryland; sister, Mary Moxley, Booneville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Hokuf of First Baptist Church, North East, Maryland, will officiate. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, Maryland.
