Myrtle Emma McNeal, 92 of Newark, DE, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on June 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and the late Nora (Mitchell) Custin.
Myrtle was a homemaker and devoted wife of 68 years to the late James H. McNeal. During World War II, she worked at Blanka Aircraft, New Castle, DE. She was a true ‘Rosie the Riveter.’
She enjoyed bingo and camping, having a campsite in Indian Acres since its beginnings in the early 1970’s.
Survivors include her 3 children: Fran Baldwin of Newport, DE, Jim L. McNeal of Tolchester, MD and Darlene Corron of North East, MD; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.
In addition to her husband and parents, Myrtle was also preceded in death by a brother: Robert Custin.
Funeral service will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE, where the family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park.
