MilleBee Cavanagh, 84 of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.
Born near Trenton, NJ, on July 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Benjamin Wermuth and Mildred Rebecca (Buchanan) Wermuth.
MilleBee graduated from Princeton High School and then from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. While she attended Moore College, she was honored to serve as class president. She won first prize in a marketing ad that was then published on the public transportation buses in Philadelphia. She taught art classes at area community college and several high schools for several years.
She loved painting with watercolors, working in her flower garden and with all types of plants. A very active member of the First Baptist Church of North East, MilleBee led women’s Bible study groups, and played the accordion during church services.
MilleBee met her beloved lifelong husband, John on a blind date in Philadelphia. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband: John; their children: Eric, Christee, Mark; and grandchildren: Jared, Rebecca, Jordan and Ryan.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at North East Methodist Cemetery, 101 Cemetery Road, North East, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or the American Red Cross.
