Mildred "Margery" (Hill) Horn

Mildred “Margery” (Hill) Horn, 92, of Rising Sun, MD, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with her loving daughters by her side. She passed away on her beloved husband’s 99th birthday. She said a few weeks before she passed that she was going to surprise him on his birthday, and she did.

Margery was born in Landenberg, PA, on November 18, 1933. She moved to Maryland in 1950 after marrying her husband, Arnold Horn. She was the daughter of the late John Herschell Hill and Rausie Emaline (McMillan) Hill.

Margery enjoyed making quilts for her family, baking, making Easter candy, gardening (in her younger days), going to yard sales, and shopping. After retiring, she enjoyed watching her soaps and enjoyed going on vacations with her husband and family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Arnold. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters, her two sons: the late Edward Horn, Sr, and the late Jerry Horn, Sr, her daughter: the late Margery “Ann” Horn Simmons, and her grandson: the late David Bryan Carpenter.

She is survived by her daughters: Carol Parker (Bill) of North East, MD, Bonnie Horn of Rising Sun, MD, and Brenda Snider (Bill) of Rising Sun, MD; daughter in law: Nancy Horn of Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren: Vicky Horn, Ed Horn, Jr (Carmen), Holly Snider (Dan), Billy Snider (Danielle), Jerry Horn, Jr (Alexandra), Nicholas Horn (Keiara); great grandchildren: Kelsey Wassum (Nick), Zach Horn, Josh Horn, Theresa Snider, Eliana Horn and Audrey Horn; and great great granddaughter: Paisley Horn with two more on the way.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with the funeral service starting thereafter.

Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora.
