Mildred Gray

Mildred "Bayes" Garey McCauley Gray, 89 of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 in the Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, PA. Born in Perry Point, MD, on September 3, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles Otis and the late Mildred Garey McCauley. She was the wife of 65 years of Allen Everett Gray who passed on Jan. 13, 2007. She is survived by her loving children: Allen E. "Chuck" Gray II and his wife, Patricia of Houston, TX, Ronald O. Gray and his wife Kathy of North East, MD and Judith A. Wiles of North East, MD; a sister: Jacqueline McCauley Fetzer of Brookville, PA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Otis McCauley, Jr. and a sister, Lois Catharine McCauley. Mildred graduated from North East High School. She was employed by the Cecil County Board of Education as a secretary at North East Elementary School for 24 years from 1960-1984. She enjoyed latch hooking rugs, pillows and wall hangings, canning vegetables, crossword puzzles, shopping, swimming and sunbathing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Inurnment will follow services in North East United Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to Ware Presbyterian Village, in care of the funeral home.
