Michael A. Nojunas, 95 of North East, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, March 23, 2012. Born in Girardville, PA, on December 6, 1916, he was the son of the late Adam and the late Rose Tergunsky Nojunas. Mike was the husband of the late Martha Ruth Cramer Nojunas. He served his country admirably during World War II in the U.S. Army. Mike was a highly decorated Veteran, who received the Silver Star, 3 Bronze Stars, 8 Battle Stars, and went onto the beaches of Normandy on D 4 4 days after D. Day. He was an owner and operator of Cramer's 5 & 10 and Cramer's Department Store in North East, MD. He is survived his children: Jeanie Nojunas and Albert J. Nojunas both of North East, MD; his grandchildren: Martin Dill, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Angela Reeves and her husband Randy of North East, MD and Stephen Dill and his wife Jocelyn of Elkton, MD; 8 great grandchildren: Andrew, Kaitlyn, and Madalyn Stewart, Troy Gibson, Molly, Gabriella, Gianna and Stephen Dill, Jr. all of Elkton, MD; sister-in-law, Betty Cramer and nephew, Philip H. Cramer both of North East, MD; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Opal Marie Nojunas, brother-in-law, Philip R. Cramer, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and friend, Amanda Samuels. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD where there will be a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
