Michael Charles Catanzarito

Beloved Son, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Father, and Grandfather, Michael Charles Catanzarito, 88 of North East, MD, passed away on October 10, in his North East home, where he had resided for the past 50 years.

Born in Harrisburg, PA, on June 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Michael A. and Mary Louise (Stigers) Catanzarito.

Michael served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for 20 years.  He then worked in Printing at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 20 years, prior to his retirement.

He was devout member of the Catholic Church, and he had a deep love for the Lord. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and for over 60 years he celebrated his love for magic by performing astounding magic shows for so many different audiences.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years: Phyllis A. (Shaffer) Catanzarito; son: Bernie Catanzarito (Andrea) of Rising Sun, MD; daughter: Jean Combs (Steven) of Elkton, MD; his siblings: Frances Tattersall, Joe Sutton, Mary Lou McConnaughey, Dominick Catanzarito, Kate Kyser;

five grandchildren (Stefanie Seamster, Jeremy Cassell, Phillip Combs, Brandon Catanzarito, and Joey Catanzarito) and seven great grandchildren (Dominic, Aliyah, Jackson, Elliott, Lydia, Eleanora, and Anastasia).

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother: John Catanzarito.

Funeral service, conducted by his nephew, Pastor Michael L. Catanzarito, will be held Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
