Melvin Phillip Gestewitz

Melvin Phillip Gestewitz, 73 passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. He was born on May 11, 1937 in Lancaster, PA and was the son of the late Marshall Adolph and the late Anna Leah Gestewitz. Melvin lived most of his life in Cecil County. He recently moved to Bradley, WV to be with his daughter. Melvin enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening and building things with his hands. He worked at A & H Metal, General Cable and for MD State Roads. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McNeely and a brother, Marshall Adolph Gestewitz, Jr. Melvin is survived by his daughter: Sharon Louise Gestewitz, brother Richard Glen Gestewitz and sisters Violet Mae Moore and Jacqueline Charm Patchell, five nephews and two nieces. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Hart's United Methodist Cemetery, 3203 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD.
