Mazie Fay Campbell, 74 of Traphill, NC, formerly of Elkton, MD, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Traphill, NC, on May 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Flossie Casey Holbrook. She was the wife of the late John Thomas McCall who died in 1966 and the late James Anderson Campbell who died in 1997. She worked as the manager at Boyd's Motel in Elkton, MD. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the North East Church of God, American Legion Post #135 in Perryville and the Moose Lodge of Elkton, where she was past president of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, embroidery, playing pool and poker. She was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by 4 devoted daughters: Nellie "Jennie" Whitt of Traphill, NC, Linda Dunn of Mountain City, TN, Shonie Thomas of Perryville, MD, Theresa Whitt of Thurmond, NC; 2 sons: Carl James Phipps of North East, MD, Roger Campbell of Newark, DE; 2 sisters: Pansy Waddell of Elk Mills, MD, Barbara Sellers of Thurmond, NC and 3 brothers: Clyde Holbrook of Elk Mills, MD, Mack Holbrook of Rising Sun, MD, Bobby Holbrook of Traphill, NC; 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ralph Massie will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD where visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
