Mary Louise (Jarrell) Steuernagle

Mary Louise Steuernagle, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on November 3, 1934, in Oak Hill, WV, Mary lived a life that brought joy to those around her and warmth to her family.

As a dedicated homemaker, Mary poured her love into her family, creating a nurturing environment that flourished with kindness and laughter. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending to her beloved garden, where vibrant flower beds and graceful rose bushes stood testament to her green thumb, and losing herself in the pages of cherished books. Her love for gardening was not just a pastime; it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, which she extended to all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her devoted children, daughter Mary Mayberry (John) of Alton, VA, daughter Susan Reasons (Bobby) of North East, MD, son David Steuernagle, Sr. (Karen) also of North East, MD, and son Michael Steuernagle (Candace)of New Freedom, PA; and her extended family, Bradley Bohle. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter who carry forward her love and passion for life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Ethel Christine (Thomlin) Jarrell, her beloved husband, Donald Phillip Steuernagle, Sr., and two sons, Donald P. Steuernagle, Jr., Lonnie Edward Steuernagle.

Family and friends are invited to join in commemorating Mary's life during the upcoming services. A public viewing will be held at Crouch Funeral Home P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, allowing all who knew and loved her to pay their respects. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, 7401 German Hill Road, Baltimore, MD.

Mary Louise Steuernagle's warmth, love, and memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and cherished moments shared by her family and friends.
