Mary Lou McClure

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lou McClure, who departed this life peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 27, 1944, in Peach Bottom, PA, Mary Lou embraced her years with unwavering grace and a spirit that touched the lives of many.

Mary dedicated a significant portion of her career as an Editorial Assistant, working at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where her commitment to her work and her colleagues shone through every project she undertook. Her passion for writing and communication reflected her generous nature, always seeking to help others find their voice.

Mary was a beloved matriarch and a steadfast source of love and wisdom to her family. She is survived by her children, Lisa McClure of Perryville, MD, Kevin McClure (Melissa) of Rising Sun, MD and Keith McClure (Karen) of Peach Bottom, PA. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Anden Sampson (Danny) of Peach Bottom, PA and Ryan Weismiller of San Diego, CA, Morgan McClure, Nicholas McClure both of Rising Sun, MD, Curtis McClure and Calvin McClure, both of Peach Bottom, PA, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Dylan and Avery. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Nancy Green of Charlestown, MD, Betty Orr of Elkton, MD, and Pat Hash of North East, MD.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Curtis McClure, and her parents, John Rock and Jean (Johnson) Housekeeper.

A devoted member of her community, Mary found joy and companionship in the Conowingo Lions Club and the Red Hat Society, where she formed lasting friendships and created unforgettable memories. An avid animal lover, her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, reflecting her deep compassion for all living beings.

Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Mary's remarkable life. A public viewing will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 11:00 AM. After the service, she will be laid to rest in Conowingo Baptist Cemetery, Conowingo, MD.
