Marshal Chastain, Sr.

Marshal Chastain, Sr., 88 of Elkton, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Birmingham, AL, on July 28, 1922, he was the son of the late Emmit and the late Rhoda Norris Chastain. Mr. Chastain was the beloved husband of 67 years of Lee Wanda Chastain of Elkton, MD. He served his country during World War II in the Army. He retired from General Motors where he worked as an electrician. Mr. Chastain was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, United Mine Workers and United Auto Workers. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children: Marshal Chastain, Jr. and wife Marjorie J. of Aiken, SC, Edna J. Biddle and husband Joseph E. Sr. of Elkton, MD and Angelia C. McCoy and husband Charles E. of Elkton, MD; one brother: Herbert H. Chastain of Jasper, AL; 8 grandchildren: Kimberly Chastain, Sherri Lano and husband Steve, Amy Reynolds and husband Harry, Darrin Chastain, Janeen Chastain, Joseph E. Biddle, Jr., Gina Biddle and Daniel Chastain; 6 great grandchildren: Madison and Allie Reynolds, Ashlee Biddle, Devin Lano, Zachery Norman and Joey Biddle; and close family friends: Mary Winkler, Margie Dula and Rita and Jim Rea. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Paul Thomas and Rev. Ralph Massie will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
