Mark Robert Adkins

Mark Robert Adkins, born October 4, 1961, passed away on November 22, 2025. Originally from Charlestown, Maryland, Mark later made his home in Virginia, where he built lasting friendships and generously shared his many talents with those around him. He was a cherished member of the community and a passionate advocate for animal rescue.

Mark will be lovingly remembered for his warm spirit, his love of cooking, and his dedication as a skilled landscaper. He is survived by his beloved siblings: Richard Adkins (Michelle), Wanda Green (Will), Aletha Bobb, and his sister-in-law, Betty Adkins. He also leaves behind his best friends, Melvin Adkins and Goldie Hutchison; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he considered his own children; and his treasured pets—his dogs Charlie, Tiny, Bear, and Sugar, and his birds Nancy and Neen.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Harris and John E. “Mountain” Adkins, and by his loving parents, Harley Adkins and Dorothy Adkins.

Mark will forever remain in our hearts.
