Marjorie Hollister Simmons, 71, of North East, MD, died peacefully at her home on Friday, December 30, 2011, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton on September 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Worthy and the late Mildred Biddle Hollister. Mrs. Simmons was the beloved wife of Larry A. Simmons of North East, MD for 53 years. She retired from the University of Delaware in 1992. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Elkton United Methodist Church and the Ruth Sarah Circle. She enjoyed playing all types of cards, trips to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her children: Debbie Simmons, Dennis Simmons, Don Simmons and his wife Suzee, Diana DeDe Simmons and her husband Chuck Dyke and David Simmons and his wife Dawn; five grandchildren: Sandi Brubaker and her husband Michael, Diana Hitchens and her husband Alex, Tina Owens and her husband Josh, Adam Simmons, Matthew Simmons and step grandson, Alex Dyke; three great grandchildren: Ava and Brooklynn Hitchens and Marshall Brubaker; and four siblings: Janet Schwanker and her husband Dick, Connie Rhudy and her husband Bob, Worthy "Bunk" Hollister and his wife Mary Ann and Fran McKinney and her husband Mack. Memorial services, conducted by Rev. Karen F. Bunnell will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 East Main Street, Elkton, MD. A memorial luncheon will be held following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to: North East Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
