Mariposa Avolene (Rhodes) Barton
Born in NC, on December 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Crommie and Nellie (Martin) Rhodes. She was the wife of the late Stanford P. Barton who died on Sept. 3, 2014.
She retired from New Jersey Fireworks, Elkton, MD and also worked at the Day Basket Factory, North East, MD.
Avolene enjoyed quilting and collecting angels.
She is survived by two sons: Leroy Barton of Elkton, MD, Lloyd Barton of North East, MD; a brother: Ronald Rhodes of North East, MD; a sister: Rosalee Poe of Elkton, MD; 6 grandchildren, including the grandson she raised: Charles Barton of North East, MD; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service time.
Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
