Margaret M. Kennedy, 95 of Elkton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD.
Born in Sparta, NC, on January 11, 1919, she was the last of the nine children born to the late Charles C. and the late Margaret L. (Garvey) McMillan. All of the children were born in Sparta, and then the family moved to Landenberg, PA in the 1930’s. There, they established a dairy farm business, which they farmed for 30 years.
In 1934, Margaret married the love of her life, Earl L. Kennedy, who died on Feb. 22, 1999.
She retired from Chrysler Corp. Parts Plant with 32 years of service working in the business office; and was also a member of the UAW.
A member of Rock Church, she very much enjoyed attending all church functions. She was also a member of DAR; and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and bird feeding. The things Margaret enjoyed the most were her family and visits from friends.
Survivors include 2 sons: F. Arland Kennedy and his wife Margaret E. of Rising Sun, MD and Rodney E. Kennedy and his wife Sandy of Calvert, MD; 7 grandchildren: Craig Kennedy, Todd Kennedy, Michael E. Kennedy, Karen Baker, Jennifer Silberzahn, Kristin Kennedy, Susan Ward; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
Interment will follow services in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
