Margaret E. Biddle Futty, 97 of Joppa, MD, passed away at the home of her daughter in North East, MD on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Clinton and the late Frances (Castelow) Biddle and wife of the late Charles E. Futty, Sr. Margaret was a homemaker and mother of five children. She worked at Glen L. Martin as a riveter during WW II. She also drove a school bus for 15 years in Harford County. Margaret was an avid rabbit hunter and hunted often with her eldest daughter, Alma, and well into her 80’s with her grandsons.
She is survived by her children: Alma Faul and husband Robert of North East, MD, Frances McCone and husband Robert of Havre de Grace, MD, Elizabeth Mabry and husband Greg of Powder Springs, GA, James Futty of FL and daughter-in-law, Shirley Neidlein Futty of Perryman, MD; also 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son: Charles E. Futty, Jr., great grandson; Charles Jason Futty; sisters: Ruth Anders and Mary King; and brothers: Lester, Arthur and Albert Biddle.
She loved a bountiful table, having her large family in for holiday meals and her companion, Barney, her dog.
She was a longtime member of Presbury United Methodist Church in Edgewood and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Services will be held at Presbury United Methodist Church, 806 Edgewood Road, Edgewood, MD, with the Rev. Bonnie Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 Noon.
Interment will follow in Hart's United Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Presbury United Methodist Church.
