With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Margaret Edmundson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 1, 1936, Margaret was a beacon of love and strength to those who knew her, exemplifying kindness and community throughout her life.
Margaret dedicated herself to her family, nurturing her children: Ronald Edmundson of Colora, MD, Frank Edmundson (Bonnie) of Havre de Grace, MD, Lisa Simon (Mike) of Rising Sun, MD, Valerie Simmers (Kenneth) of North East, MD, and her late son, William Robert Edmundson. She cherished her role as a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren, embracing the joys of family gatherings and sharing stories that will be passed down through generations.

A longtime member of the Woodlawn Homemakers, her influence extended beyond her family. Margaret was an active participant in the Ebenezer Methodist Church, where her unwavering faith shone brightly, inspiring countless others in the community. She also relished the camaraderie and laughter shared with her friends in the Red Hat Ladies, where she celebrated life's little moments with joy and exuberance. Margaret's life was a tapestry woven with love, compassion, and the deep connections she formed with family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
Memorial services to honor and celebrate Margaret's life will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church,1072 Ebenezer Church Rd, Rising Sun, MD, on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with Interment to follow in the church's cemetery. The family invites all who loved her to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose spirit will forever be cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ebenezer Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in Margaret's memory. Her love will continue to shine through the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all.
