Margaret Cardin, 74 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at Seasons Hospice in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.

Born in Philadelphia,  PA, on December 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and the late Margaret (Stewart) Ramsey.  She was the wife of the late Emile Robert Cardin.

Mrs. Cardin graduated from the University of Delaware, Class of 1960.  She then went on to teach Elementary School in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey until her retirement when she and her husband moved to North East.

She was a member of St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church, North East, MD; the North East Civic League and the Red Hat Society.  She loved playing Bridge and had a passion for teaching. Her happiest moments were spending time with family and her many friends, new and old, near and far.

She leaves to cherish her memory of her three daughters: Jennifer Cardin of North East, MD, Kristin C. Lantz (Jeff) of Fishers, IN and Alyson Cardin of Pearisburg, VA;  her brother: Thomas H. Ramsey of Radnor, PA; and her beloved  5 grandchildren Emilee Cardin, Samantha Reed, Evan Lantz, Eli Lantz and Jacob Reed.

The family will welcome friends and family on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery; there will be a reception for family and friends in the parish hall following the interment service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, University of Delaware School of Education or Christiana Hospital Center for Heart and Vascular Health in care of the funeral home.
