Mack Phillip Johnson Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mack Phillip Johnson Sr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on August 10, 2025. Mack was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent his life in the scenic landscapes of North East, MD, where he made countless memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Mack retired from Cecil Tree Service, where he worked as a tree trimer. Beyond his work, he was perhaps best known for his love of the great outdoors. You could always find him enjoying a quiet day hunting or fishing, Mack found peace in spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Johnson of 44 years, whose partnership brought joy and laughter to his life. Mack was a proud father to Mack Johnson Jr. (Stacie) of Dublin, GA, and Bryan Johnson of North East, MD, who continue to carry on his legacy in their own families. He also leaves behind his brothers: Wayne of Port Deposit, MD, Larry of Colora, MD, Jeff of Port Deposit, MD, and Kenneth of North East, MD. He also leaves behind 3 adoring Grandchildren, Zach, Jade and Ashley.

Mack was preceded in death by: his parents, Cecil L. Johnson & Opal Marie (Strugill) Johnson; sister, Jane Brown; and brother, Cecil Johnson Jr.

A Visitation for Mack will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S Main Street, North East, MD. A Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join us in celebrating Mack's life, sharing memories, and honoring the man who touched so many lives.
