Mabel Blanch Futty

Mabel Blanch Futty, 83 of North East, MD, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elkton, MD, on April 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and the late Mary Simpers Lockard. She was the wife of the late Ward Futty, Sr. She enjoyed gardening, making and selling Christmas wreaths and spending time with her family. Survived include her children: Mabel Harrington of North East, MD, Mary Lou Thompson of Rising Sun, MD, Ella Maxwell of Gray, TN, Betty Cannon of North East, MD and Ward Futty, Jr. of North East, MD; her siblings: John Lockard of Greenbank, TN, Howard Lockard of North East, MD, Mary Walker of Dover, DE, Florence Williams of Charlestown, MD; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Caroline Boone and Bertha Reedy. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mark Maxwell will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
