Louis Dewitt Roark, Sr.

Louis DeWitt Roark, Sr., 80 of North East, MD, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Ashland, NC, on December 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Earl and the late Virginia Nelson Roark. He served in the US Navy from 1949 to 1956. He retired after 39 years of service as a maintenance mechanic for Harbison Walker. He enjoyed many hobbies including boating, gardening, woodworking, welding and fabricating. Survivors include his children: Troy L. Roark and his wife Debbie of Elkton, MD, Louis L. Roark, Jr. and his companion Vicky Arrowood of North East, MD and Andrea Jones and her husband Mark of Conowingo, MD; two siblings: Curtis Sonny Roark, Vdare Vaughn; two grandchildren: Taylor Roark and Mark Jones, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Paul, Harold and Billy Roark; and 4 sisters: Cassie Plaskon, Willa Wessell, Coleen Dvorak and Betty Pope. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 Noon.
