Linda Diane Sheets

Linda Diane Sheets, daughter of Mary Jane Mattox of Wilmington, DE and Henry Allen Woodstock, II of New Castle, DE lost her courageous battle with lymphoma. Diane was born in Wilmington, DE and attended the University of Delaware graduating in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art History. Diane entered the work force full-time in the 1970's and eventually became the Chief Financial Officer of the American Institute of Public Service, where she worked until March 2006. She was an active member of the North East United Methodist Church where over the course of twenty years she served on several committees, was one of the founding members of Common Ground, a valuable outreach ministry for people who are suffering loss or illness, was a Stephen's Minister, and a member of the Senior Choir and Bell Choir. Diane was an exceptional seamstress, loved watching movies, and caring for her pets. She loved learning and trying new things. After becoming a grandmother, she discovered she loved roller-coasters and she also realized an outdoorsy-adventurous side of herself when she began hiking the mountains of the Pacific Northwest in her late fifties. She is survived by her four children and their families: Kristin Erickson of Tacoma, WA, Melissa Russell of North East, MD, Heather Brown of North East, MD, and Andrew Sheets of Newark, DE. She adored her seven grandchildren and they were the primary focus of her life. She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Marianne Craig of Wilmington, DE, Karen Bennett of New Castle, DE, and Henry Woodstock, III of Daytona, FL. Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD where family and friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, Donor Services P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MD 01202. For condolences visit www.crouchfuneralhome.com
