Linda M. Dean, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 5, 1940, in Droop, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Neva Mae (Cutlip) Starks. She was the wife of the late Roy Richard Dean who passsed February 6, 2001.

Linda's spirit and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a dedicated customer service representative at Union Hospital of Cecil County, where she worked tirelessly in the healthcare sector, embodying compassion and commitment.

Linda cherished her role as a mother to her beloved six children: Mary Doyle (William) of Port Deposit, MD, Peggy S. Wooddell (Andy) of North East, MD, James C. Dean (Dreama) of Elkton, MD, Joseph R. Dean (Stephanie), John R. Dean, and Pamela L. Dean, all of North East, MD. She delighted in her role as a grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to six, who brought immense joy to her life. She was also survived by a brother, Charles Starks of North East, MD and sister, June Sura of VA. Her family was her heart, and she was a constant source of love and support.

In addition to her family, Linda had a deep passion for gardening and cooking, filling her home with the warmth of home-cooked meals and vibrant flowers. She enjoyed watching Hallmark Channel movies, often sharing them with visitors who cherished her company. Her home was known as the meeting place of the family. She made sure that her doors were always open and she welcomed everyone. Holidays were especially dear to her, a time when Linda's spirited celebrations brought family and friends together.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Amedisys Hospice workers.

Interment will be private in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
