Lydia A. Cox Sweet, 100, of Rockford died February 6, 2007 in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born July 5, 1906 in Chicago, daughter of Charles and Anna (Kruger) Diedrich. Lydia retired from National Lock after 22 years of service. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, crocheting, and playing the Kimball Organ. Lydia was a member of Beth Eden Church. Survivors include son, Lee (Barb) Magnuson of Yakima, Wa; son in law, Charles Edwards of Rockford; grandchildren, Christine (Gary) Koeller of Rockford, Jeffrey (Lori) Edwards of Caledonia, Susan (Rick) Hamilton, and Kelly Magnuson of Washington; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandsons. Predeceased by daughter, Lois Edwards; 2 husbands; parents, brother; 3 sisters. Memorial service will be Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. The family would like to thank the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home for the care given to Lydia.
