Lillian Marks Stallard

Lillian Marks Stallard, 93 of Melbourne, FL, formerly of North East, MD, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at home. Born in Orange, NJ, on July 8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harry and the late Elsie Ward Marks. She was the devoted wife of the late Wade Hampton Stallard, Sr., who died in 1986. She served our country as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After raising her children she retired as Librarian of the Navy Prep School, Port Deposit, MD. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Stallard was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, North East, MD, where the Stallard's were one of the founding families. Her life was devoted to her family and took great pleasure in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining at family gatherings, shopping, and reading. Survivors include her children: Wade Hampton Stallard, Jr. and his wife Margaret E. of Berwyn, PA, Mark Stallard and his wife Phyllis of New Castle, DE, Margaret M. Stallard of Melbourne, FL, Theresa Stallard Moore and her husband James of Mount Pleasant, SC and John Stallard and his wife Beth of North East, MD; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Joseph Piekarski will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, 928 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
