Lilburn "Libby" R Lewis

Lilburn “Libby” R. Lewis, 87 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at home.

Born in Charlestown, MD, on August 11, 1938, he was the son of the late James L. Lewis and Ogretta (McCrary) Lewis.

He served in the 29th Division of the Maryland National Guard. He was a retired store owner of Lewis Market in North East, MD, from 1968 - 1993.

Libby was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of North East, loved music, wood crafts, gardening, and Santa Claus of the Town of North East.

Survived by two daughters: Loretta Jo Forino (Walter) of North East, MD, and Sandy Jackson (Eric) of North East, MD, two grandchildren: Chrissy Norton (Andrew) and Andrew Jackson (Andrea). Preceded in death by his late wife, Iva Louise Lewis.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of North East, 206 Mechanics Valley Road, North East, MD, with funeral services starting at 12:00 pm.

Interment will be in the North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD
