Lila Kinsey Sanders

Lila Kinsey Sanders, 82 of North East, MD, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Hillside Rehabilitation Center, Wilmington, DE after a short illness. Born in Frederick, MD, on June 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ridley and the late Alice Russell Young Kinsey of Petersburg, VA. She attended Petersburg High School and was a 1947 graduate of Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, VA. She was active for many years in The All Seasons Garden Club of North East, The Women's Civic League of North East, The Red Hat Society, Various Duplicate Bridge Groups, and St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, North East, MD. Survivors include her husband of 59 years: Jerrell L. Sanders of North East, MD; son: J. Lloyd Sanders, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Virginia Hinckley Sanders of Rising Sun, MD; daughter: Katherine Ridley Riki Sanders Stone and son-in-law Dennis K. Stone of Richmond, VA; 4 grandchildren: Robert K. Stone of Charlottesville, VA, Katherine Stone Kapinos of Richmond, VA, Lt. Christopher L. Stone of Fort Lewis, WA, and Sunni Neal Sanders Ystrom of Copenhagen, Denmark; and one great-granddaughter, Claire Kinsey Kapinos of Richmond, VA. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Ridley Kinsey, Jr. of Wilmington, DE. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD. The Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Hartman will officiate. Following the service, a reception and luncheon for friends and family will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
