Leonard Lee Newswanger

Leonard Lee Newswanger, 70 of Perryville, MD, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Lancaster, PA, on May 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Ivan and the late Ruth Weaver Newswanger. He was the husband of the late Barbara Ann Newswanger who died March 19, 2002. Mr. Newswanger served his country in the Navy from 1955 thru 1963. He owned and operated Pat's Marina in Charlestown, MD for many years, selling it in 2006. He also was formerly a trucker with Morgan Paper in Lititz, PA. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, Perryville, MD. In his youth he enjoyed racing motorcycles. More recently, he enjoyed boating and his trike. Survivors include his children: Greg L. Newswanger of Charlestown, MD, Gary K. Newswanger of Ellicott City, MD, Ginger S. Reynolds of Perryville, MD; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev.
