Lawrence Earl Gordon, Jr., 89 of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 28, 1927, he was the son of the late Lawrence Earl, Sr. and Oral (Kelso) Gordon. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Earl retired from the State of Delaware. He worked as a Counselor Supervisor for Delaware Corrections. His last assignment was in Smyrna.
He enjoyed sailing, painting, orchids and genealogy.
Survivors include his wife: Amy Bolen Gordon; his children: Jill Midori Mears of Townsend, DE and Mikki Haruko Senn of Chesapeake City, MD; 5 stepchildren: Robert M. Bolen, Jr. of Cocoa Beach, FL, James C. Bolen of Savannah, GA, Judy Bolen Alleman of York, PA, Ellen B. Stewart of Hartwell, GA and Layne E. Bolen of Vero Beach, FL. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Earl was also preceded in death by his first wife: Linda Haruko Gordon.
