Laura Edith Craig Lockard, 91 of Wilmington, DE, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Shipley Manor in Newark, DE. Born in North East, MD, on August 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Aldridge B. and the late Nellie P. Gatchell Craig. She was the wife of the late Albert F. Lockard who died Sept. 9, 1995. She worked as an Accounting Clerk retiring from Thiokol. She was a homemaker, and worked at the Cecil County Work Force Center in her late 80's. Mrs. Lockard was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Elkton, MD, Ladies Auxiliary of North East Fire Co., Cecil County Commission on Aging, District 5 Ladies Auxiliary of Union Hospital and the Loyal Order of Rebecca's. She was a survivor, volunteer and advocate for the Cecil County Relay for Life. She enjoyed crafts, art, quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and collecting recipes. She loved to shop till you drop. Survivors include three sons: Nyle A. Everett and his wife Tina of Waynesboro, PA, Roger D. Everett of Kissimmee, FL, Thomas A. Lockard of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Virginia Hafer of Benbrook, TX, Gertrude 'Bunky" Dankel of Wilmington, DE, Olive Roberts of Bena, VA; grandchildren: Chrissy, P.J., Greg, Fran, Andy, Craig, Tura and Josh; great grandchildren: Britney, Broegan, Colin, Emily and A.J. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Cahall. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, May 22, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD and Saturday, May 23, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Union Church, 440 Union Church Road, Elkton, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Union United Methodist Church, or Cecil County Relay for Life, in care of the funeral home.
