Laura Elizabeth Dean

Laura Elizabeth Dean, of North East, MD, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. She was born in Cass, WV, the daughter of the late James and Edna Cook Cassell. She was the wife of the late Berlin Harold Dean who died on January 28, 2001. She retired from Perry Point VA Hospital where she worked as a Nursing Aid. She also worked at Union Hospital as an escort for the Surgical and X-Ray Depts. She owned and operated Salon D. Beliza in North East, MD and had previously worked at Bubb Metal Co. in Newark, DE. Mrs. Dean attended North East United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include her daughter: Deborah L. Miller and her husband Mark; grandchildren: Deana Ittner and her husband William and Mark Miller, Jr. all of North East, MD; her siblings: Sam Cassell of Cass, WV, Ellen Garr of Mountain City, TN, Phyllis Starks of North East, MD; her great grandchildren: Tyler, Austin, Grayson and Emma; and lots of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Cassell and a sister, Ula "Sis" Ervine. Funeral services, conducted by Rev, Bert Jicha will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
